Winter hiking and snow days organized by the “Prealpi Giulie Park”. The walks are divided per difficulty degree , from those suitable for all up to the hardests for experienced climbers and well trained people. Winter Trails, Nordic Walking Snow, Ice Scrambling, snow-naturalistic and night.
The cost depends on the trip, outings and activities and goes from 6 to 14 euros per person.

A suggestive and challenging time trial along the Alpine ski slopes of Varmost at night. The final section of the trail before reaching the hut, will be enlightened by a series of torches on either side of the runway, creating an enchanting play of lights for the pleasure of the spectators.

The Carnival of Timau is a very nice traditional event which reveals itself through ancients gestures and through the strange dialect taking its origins in the german language. The fulcrum of this event is the traditional masks parade "Beautiful and ugly", characterized by the "Jutalans" , the graceful typical masks of Timau.

SAURIS- The "Night of the Lanterns"- Carnival

The carnival of Sauris is one of the oldest in the "alpine arc" and is celebrated on the Saturday and Sunday before Shrove Tuesday. The main characters are "Rolar" and "Kheirar". "Rolar" is a magical and diabolic figure, his face blackened with soot, who tells the people when they must start to prepare for the masque. "Kheirar" is the king of the masque. His face is concealed behind a wooden mask, his clothes are torn and he carries a broom which he uses to beat on the doors of houses he wishes to enter. The two characters go through the streets of Sauris followed by a procession of masks who can be either ugly (Scheintena schembin) or handsome (Scheana schembin). The masks hiding their faces are all made of wood. The procession continues through the night and by lantern light goes deep into the wood in the direction of a great propitiatory bonfire lit in a clearing.
